Jay Elliott, PhD
I am committed to supporting development of novel solutions to enhance the lives of people living with kidney disease. As Executive Director, Global Medical Strategy (Nephrology and Immunology) at Otsuka, I lead a team of Medical Directors responsible for the development of medical strategy, scientific communications and evidence plans for Otsuka's marketed and investigational drugs. Prior to Otsuka, I held positions of increasing responsibility over seven years at Bayer culminating in a role as Global Integrated Evidence Lead for the kidney franchise. Earlier in my career, I managed Phase II-IV clinical trials at Medpace and served as a Medical Science Liaison at Boehringer Ingelheim. Originally from Toronto, Canada, I earned my BA in Psychology at York University. I subsequently completed my MA and PhD in Biological Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Neuroscience at the Medical University of South Carolina. I am a member of the American Society of Nephrology and the International Society of Nephrology. Outside of professional commitments, I serve local non-profits in the Cincinnati area including as a Board Member for the Ohio Alleycat Resource and volunteer for the National Kidney Foundation.
