Pam Duquette is currently employed by the Johns Hopkins Hospital as the Program Coordinator for the Comprehensive Transplant Center’s Live Donor Champion Program. In addition to running this clinical education seminar for patients on the Johns Hopkins kidney waiting list, she is responsible for several donor intake tasks within the Johns Hopkins Kidney Donor Office.
Pam has been a member of NephCure Kidney International since 2002 when her daughter first presented with Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). She has spoken at NEPTUNE (The Nephrotic Syndrome Study Network) conferences sponsored by the NIDDK (National Institute for Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases), presented a case at an FDA-sponsored Public Meeting on Patient-Focused Drug Development and participated in several Kidney Advocacy Days on Capitol Hill.
Pam’s experience as caregiver and patient advocate during her daughter’s struggle with FSGS (which included 172 hospitalizations, 22 surgeries, hemo and peritoneal dialysis and transplant) provides a unique perspective from which she plans to make an effective contribution to the KHI PFPC.
