Howard Trachtman, MD, MLA, FASN

I attended Haverford College and University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. I completed my residency training at Tufts-New England Medical Center and Bronx Municipal Hospital Center and my fellowship in Pediatric Nephrology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. I was Professor of Clinical Pediatrics and chief of the Division of Pediatric Nephrology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and NYU Langone Health from December 2011 until June 2021. I have been the PI of NIDDK and industry sponsored clinical trials in glomerular disease and I am a Co-Investigator in the NEPTUNE and CureGN observational cohort studies. I am the Co-PI on ongoing studies evaluating the impact of environmental chemical exposures on kidney development and disease progression in children and adults with CKD. I am on the Medical Advisory Board of the Alport Syndrome Foundation, on the editorial board of Expert Opinion in Emerging Drugs (editor-in-chief), Kidney360, Glomerular Diseases, and Pediatric Nephrology and on the Board of Directos of the Kidney Health Initiative (KHI)
